With Spring rolling around, the town’s development is in full swing! It’s starting to look so lively, and even if the warmer weather doesn’t do much for me - seeing all the trees in bloom sure warms the heart! <3

“Evenin’ Raye! Got any new years’ resolutions?”

“I’m gonna try and relax more.”

“Relax more! Uh, are you or are you not the laziest guy in town?”

“I dunno, I just mean like… chill out and try to go with the flow more. I’ve been reading a self help book.”

“In that spirit… want to go on a garden date?”

Yeah… the warmer weather definitely has some advantages!

The town is really starting to bustle!! I love how it lights up when it’s dark now - we creatures of the night appreciate these details!

“Claire is part of your squad! You did plenty.”

“Hmmm, yes. Emmie Aisling, is it? I’m aware of your, uh, ‘writing’.”

“Thanks! Maybe we should collaborate some time.“

“Right, sure. So these alarms…”

“Yes!! If somebody breaks into your property, Hollyhead’s police force will be called to the scene right away - even if you’re still sleeping!”

“…Is that a burglar locked up behind the till?”

“It sure is Mr. Reporter but don’t you worry, our security is water-tight!”

Emmie: Hi everyone! I’ve got a special report for you today as we interview Hollyhead’s first Criminal Mastermind… Caryl Johnston!

Caryl: Criminal mastermind? I’m just a burglar.

Emmie: So, I have to ask - how did you end up embarking on a life of crime?

Caryl: I just sort of fell into it, I suppose… It’s not like I grew up planning to be a burglar. I did always have pretty sticky fingers though.

Emmie: Have you ever been caught before?

Caryl: No, which is so annoying! I was hoping to move here, but if I’m going to be a notorious criminal I guess it won’t really work out.

Emmie: Yeah, robbing our mayor probably isn’t the best start. Way to make a bad first impression!

Emmie: So how come you wanted to move to Hollyhead? We don’t discriminate, but the town’s really been founded with supernatural sims in mind.

Caryl: It sounds kind of silly, but I always wanted to be a supernatural creature, actually.

Emmie: Oooh, what kind?

Caryl: A vampire, maybe? Like you.

Emmie: Oooooh! Well, I can’t blame you for that! We ARE pretty cool. And great at sneaking around, too! It’d probably be useful for your nightly activities, too. You could turn into a bat and fly in through someone’s window…

Caryl: Don’t give me ideas! Hahahaha.

Emmie: Hahaha! Well, folks, that’s Caryl! She’s a little rough around the edges, but I don’t think she’s a bad person. We’ll be keeping her in custody for a while longer, so if you want to say hi, just swing by the station! Maybe buy a burglar alarm while you’re there?

“What’s going on in here?”

“Oh, just wrapping up an interview with my new pal Caryl here!!”

“You’re not supposed to be making friends with the prisoner, Emmie. How about you go help at the front? Caryl, here’s your food.”

“Is this fresh fish?”

“Yes, I caught it myself.”

“Ah, Claire, there you are! Thank you for your help apprehending the burglar the other day.”

“No worries. Will you definitely be okay holding her here?”

“Yes, yes, everything’s perfectly under control. So - will you be needing an alarm for your home?”

“I think I’m probably okay.”

I stayed home to work on my next publication while the boys were at the station… the publishers like what they are seeing and it looks like this one is a hit, hooray! I’d like to just quit bothering with the press office, quit my job and just keep writing, but I can’t, really, Rob’s counting on me…
